Word of the Gay: "Boston Marriage"

A "Boston Marriage" is a term that was traditionally used to describe two women who lived together under the same household independent of any male influence. Some of these relationships could have been secretly lesbian, others close friendships, or asexual in nature. Today, the term is used to describe non-sexual relationships between two-women who reside together.
