Some of your readers might appreciate this or at least the chance to tell me I'm dead wrong about the topic.

I'd like to shre this op-ed I wrote for Truth Wins Out, Wayne Besen's highly regarded gay news blog:
http://www.truthwinsout.org/blog/2009/07/3385/

Titled My Post Pride Dream, I attempt to address some of the highly counter-productive "bitchy queen/angry dyke" behavior that I've seen in the LGBT community
for the past 35 years.

Though these thoughts have been building for years, a few specific incidents inspired me to write the piece:
When I, in the recent past, was subjected to anti-gay bias, scores of LGBT activists, journalists, even friends, laughed at me and told me to "get over it".
At the same time, I watched Prop 8 sail to "victory" because the No on 8 organizers shut their own supporters out of the campaign. No matter~~the community as a whole
refused to work together anyway.

On the very day Prop 8 passed, I saw gay men in San Francisco's Castro district giving each other
the same snotty attitude that's been going on for the past several decades~~I saw this same behavior in New York's Chelsea on the day of Matt Shepard's funeral.

When does it become OK for me, as a 53 year old gay man, out for 35 years, to say:
"enough is enough"?
I want a real community, and so I wrote My Post Pride Dream.

Sorry if the terms offend a few people, but I feel I need to speak frankly.
We can't afford to enable the "bitchy queens/angry dykes" any longer.
We need each other, folks. Religious conservatives are spending millions to take our rights away~~some of them have openly called for our deaths.
It's time for us to learn how to be a real community.

Heh, I'm a bit late for this!

I wanted to promote my organisations website though. A Gender Agenda is a Canberra (Australia) based transgender rights organisation.

We've recently migrated to a new domain, but we're starting to get some useful info up.

We also have a blog at:
