This bill is the result of historic cooperation among LGBT organizations in Florida working together to advance a joint legislative strategy to ban discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity. It is a joint effort that I think our whole community can be proud of. Currently, that joint effort includes ACLU of Florida, Equality Florida, Organizations United Together (OUT), ADL, Palm Beach County Human Rights Council, SAVE Dade, Compass and several legislators and individual activists, and in December these groups and others are meeting to further develop cooperative strategy to advance the bill.
